At Shedfield Lodge we take pride in the range of activities we have available for residents. We understand how important it is to keep the mind active. To help promote this we encourage everyone to participate in as many of our activities as possible. Remember at Shedfield we also operate unrestricted visiting hours.Shedfield has a vast amount of animals to look at including horses, ponies, chickens and the resident cat. We also have an entertainment coordinator who arranges outings and all of the entertainment around the home keeping it person centred and adapted to the needs of the Service Users whilst listening to the families for ideas. One of our entertainment coordinators currently also works on the care side so understands the needs of each Service User.We also hire a specially adapted minibus so residents and staff can enjoy many pleasant outings. Visits to the local beach for ice creams and walks along the shore always seem to be a favourite.
It doesn't matter how much we talk about our own services there is nothing better than finding out what other people think of what we do. Click here to read some of the letters we have received from residents families.
All of the rooms are comfortable and tastefully decorated in a neutral palette, most with original features that give a sense of luxury. Understanding that residents can find moving into a care home especially difficult. We encourage new residents and families to personalise the space with their own furniture, keepsakes and memories from their past, making the transition as stress free as possible and making their new space feel like home.
Everyone living at Shedfield Lodge is valued and supported to live a full a life as possible, while maintaining and regaining independence, where possible. We understand the uniqueness of every individual and provide a social environment that supports the requirements of each individual, enabling them to be the person they want to be, maintaining dignity, stimulating minds and giving a sense of purpose.
By understanding the world from the prospective of the person experiencing a Dementia, we are able to offer specialist care, centred around each individual ensuring inclusion, respect and privacy.
